iPort, the inventor of the in-wall music system for iPod®, continues to innovate solutions for the custom installer with Apple® products. The CM-IW200 allows a 4th generation iPod touch® to be used for home automation control and music playback. Supporting a variety of downloadable applications for control of audio, video, lighting and climate as well as traditional touch screen applications such as weather and time, the CM-IW200 may be installed in a vertical or horizontal* manner, depending upon the desired use.

The iPod touch is securely mounted into the CM-IW200 and trimmed with a magnetic mounting frame to provide in-wall access to the iPod touch screen. Music from a variety of internet sources may be played via the mounted iPod touch, turning the CM-IW200 into a discreet in-room music source which can be easily connected to an amplifier and speakers for a local room music system. With the audio output routed to a multi-zone audio controller, music from the CM-IW200 can be distributed.

Using a Wi-Fi connection through the mounted iPod touch, applications supported by iPod touch can be downloaded for integration with the control system that has been provided by the installer. A gentle tap on the multi-touch display or swipe and tap provides easy access to the range of applications available. Downloading of new applications and iTunes® content may be done with the iPod touch mounted in the CM-IW200 via the provided Wi-Fi network.

The CM-IW200 provides continuous charging for the mounted iPod touch over CAT5 via a power supply connection at its audio and power wall plate.
