It arrived with the box literally falling apart and the meager stryrofoam padding falling out. So I inspected it with the UPS guy and there was a small crack but it seemed to blow out cool air when I plugged it in, so I took it. I wish I'd refused.
The air blows out the exhaust vent more forcefully than from the front. You can only feel the cool if you are within 3 feet of the front of the unit - even on high - and, because the air barely left the machine, the heat from the exhaust cancelled out any benefit. The room is just under 400 sq ft and this is rated for 425. I doubt this would work in 100 sq. ft! it actually got hotter in the 4 hours it was on AND I had two other fans on!
It needs an oscillating option. It needs to be cooler. It needs to blow air out further than 4 ft. in front of it. I think it's damaged or defective, but I don't think I'd get another one even if it wasn't. I'll have the credit transfered to a different model. Anyone got a recommendation?
