Recently purchased to replace an aging window unit. Installation was very easy, much better than installing a heavy window unit, and allowing the window screen to be left in place so the window can still be opened on cooler nights without removing the AC unit. The seal left many gaps, but nothing duct tape could not deal with. Others have mentioned a problem with water collecting and difficulty draining the unit. I have not experienced this, even though the temperatures for the past week have been 90 to 100 degrees with high humidity. My window opening is near floor level though, so maybe that allows for easier venting of the water vapor through the exit hose. The unit is, however, very noisy, and installed on a tile floor that is not perfectly level it produces quite a bit of extra vibration noise. It's still difficult to hear the television over the unit when the compressor is on. Cools a large Florida room very effectively though, so I can live with the noise.

The air conditioner is keeping my top-floor (read very hot) New York apartment very comfortable. It is a little louder than I expected, though not enough so that it has interfered with my sleep, and much quieter than my previous window unit. The air conditioner also seems much more bulky than comparable portable ones--not a deal breaker, but be aware of the dimensions. Installation was extremely easy.
