The New Humidification Function adds humidity to the air for more comfortable air quality & maximum comfort, especially in colder weather.  It also helps reduce static electricity that results from dry air. (The humidifying feature does NOT have to be "ON" for the unit to work properly).  The main function of the humidifier feature is that is aids in deactivating flu viruses during times of low humidity.
